2014 Commissioner Handbook

Chairman Troy Elmore
Commissioner Position 3

Commissioner Troy Elmore has served Lake Stevens Fire since January 1, 2000.

“I envision Lake Stevens Fire continuing to provide progressive regional leadership in regards to fire suppression, emergency medical care, and fire prevention/public education.  Through innovation and efficiency our team will continue to seek out better ways to provide service and meet the challenges of our rapidly growing community.  Ensuring that we have an adequate number of well-trained firefighters and paramedics for emergency response will continue to be our top priority."

Vice Chair Paul Gagnon
Commissioner Position 1

Commissioner Paul Gagnon has served Lake Stevens Fire since December 10, 2013.

“The goal of Lake Stevens Fire is to minimize the loss of life and property as a result of fire, medical emergencies, and disaster situations in our community. We accomplish this goal through a proactive approach to fire protection and emergency medical services, on-going training and community education programs, obtaining quality equipment and a dedicated professional staff.

My goal as Fire Commissioner is to build upon the successes achieved in recent years, and to seek ways to make our fire department even stronger. My top priority is and will continue to be the safety of the public and the safety of our personnel. As Lake Stevens Fire prepares for the challenges of the future, I will continually seek ways to evaluate how we provide our services in an effort to be most efficient, adaptable, and responsive to the public safety needs of our residents and the visitors to the community we serve.”

Dan Lorentzen

Dan Lorentzen served as Fire Commissioner from July 7, 2004 to September 30, 2014. He has resigned from his position as Commissioner in order to move forward in his new role as Chief of Police for Lake Stevens.

Chief Lingenfelter commented, “I have appreciated working closely with Dan for the past 10 years. I have found him to be a great asset to Lake Stevens Fire. The department has undergone many changes and seen much growth during Dan’s tenure as Fire Commissioner. Dan has been at the leading edge of those changes and growth, demonstrating fiscal responsibility, vision, dedication, and a balanced and thoughtful approach to the operational complexities of the department. I would like to personally thank Dan for his decade of service to Lake Stevens Fire and we wish him the best as he leads the Lake Stevens Police Department into the future.”
